54th Annual St. Joseph’s Parade

March 28, 2026

New Orleans, LA

Hosted by the Italian American St. Joseph Society, this parade is a cherished New Orleans tradition and stands as the largest St. Joseph’s Day celebration in the nation. Established over 55 years ago, the event annually draws thousands of spectators to the French Quarter to celebrate Italian-American heritage and religious devotion.

The procession is uniquely distinguished by its "rolling St. Joseph Altar," a mobile tribute that allows the faithful to participate in the tradition of the St. Joseph Altar while on the move. The parade features a lively mix of marching bands, floats, and dance krewes, blending solemnity with festivity.

Recently, the Society marked a historic milestone by officially opening its membership to women, signaling a new chapter of inclusivity for the nonprofit. This evolution adds a fresh dynamic to the upcoming march, inviting women's groups to participate alongside long-standing members in honoring the Saint.
